CPR/AED/First Aid + STB course (2+ hours)

This American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid and Stop the Bleed class will help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies for adults, children, and infants. This interactive training will prepare you to recognize severe emergencies and how to act on them. First Aid emergencies include seizure, stroke, asthma, snake bites, spider bites, heat/cold emergencies, and much more! Through our STOP THE BLEED® course, you’ll gain the ability to recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene effectively. The person next to a bleeding victim may be the one who’s most likely to save him or her. After successful completion of the course, you will receive an American Red Cross certificate for CPR/AED/First Aid and another certificate for STOP THE BLEED®.

Lab Packing 101 (4 hours)
Wednesday, August 10th, 1PM - 5PM

This course is designed for someone who is starting a hazardous waste self-pack program from the ground up. It is also very useful for hazardous waste managers who do not self-pack but want to better understand what their vendor is doing and assess the quality of their work.

DOT Refresher (8 hours)
Thursday, August 11th, 8AM - 4PM
Presented by: Sonia Irusta, Vice President, Bureau of Dangerous Goods

The DOT refresher course helps maintain competencies learned in 49 CFR and must be taken every 3 years.

HAZWOPER 8-Hour Refresher
Wednesday, August 10th (1PM - 5PM) and Thursday, August 11th (8AM - 12PM)
Presented by: John Guglielmo, The Prevention, Preparedness and Response (P2R) Academy

The HAZWOPER refresher course recertifies and maintains competencies learned in the HAZWOPER 24-Hour or 40-Hour courses and must be taken annually. The 8-hour refresher is split over two days. Day 1 will be in a classroom and go over some of the basic reminders and hot topics in HAZWOPER. Day 2 will be “hands-on,” reviewing monitoring/sampling equipment, then do a demo/walk-through with the City of Richardson Fire Department’s HAZMAT Truck.

Process Safety Concepts for Laboratory Inspections and Operations, NFPA 45 - 2019 (8 hours)

This course is suited for the seasoned Laboratory Safety Professional, Chemical Hygiene Officers, Chemical Hygiene Committee members, Laboratory Inspectors and the EHS professional who wants to broaden their knowledge of laboratory process safety concepts. This course will increase your ability to identify safety hazards and enhance your understanding of safe laboratory design and process operations.
